Funny thing is, Roll was originally supposed to be the Luigi to Rock's Mario, but that was cut for some reason, so she just sticks around Light Labs for the end credits to see Rock's hilarious civilian mode.
There are also certain aspects of the fandom that explore a potential battle mode for her. First there's Upon a Star, a three-part saga that I assume takes place in a dream and has Roll dressed up like a Valentines Day mascot for her heroic deeds, Powered Up comes along sometime in 2006 and has her playable, using her broom to attack and giving her a butt-ton of downloadable costumes, and a proof-of-concept 11th-game artwork that for-sure does take place in Roll's dream has her in a more refined suit of armor, with no cheesy antennae.
Then there's the fangames - 2.5D, 8-Bit Death Match, Rock and Roll, Mega Man Maker, and the upcoming Perfect Blue.
And then there's whatever's going on with how she looks in the short-lived (but infinitely meme-able) Ruby and Spears TV show.
